{"id":1681,"date":"2021-09-19T15:13:32","date_gmt":"2021-09-19T14:13:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.kendonagasaki.org\/?p=1681"},"modified":"2022-02-06T20:24:09","modified_gmt":"2022-02-06T20:24:09","slug":"r-i-p-jimmy-greaves","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/blog.kendonagasaki.org\/?p=1681","title":{"rendered":"R.I.P Jimmy Greaves"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">I was saddened today to hear of the passing of the great Jimmy Greaves, a man who leaves a legacy of remarkable sporting skill, but also of warmth, intelligence, and a good-humoured approach to life.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">I had the good fortune to work with Jimmy for a charity wrestling match, arranged by LWT, in December 1986. By this time, Jimmy was established as an extremely popular football pundit on \u2018Saint and Greavsie\u2019, and on meeting him I understood the demand for him. For the match, he wore pink \u2013 not a colour often seen in a wrestling ring \u2013 and it was agreed that Kendo should body-slam him. We discussed the \u2018match\u2019 beforehand, and Jimmy\u2019s warmth and humour greatly impressed me.
